It's a Good Thing

The WSTDA has surfaced over the past few years to be an association that others want to know, work with and be a part of. I remember when you could say “WSTDA” and the person on the other end would say “who?” Fortunately those days are gone and as Martha would say, “it’s a good thing.”

It’s the good things however that bring added demands and responsibilities to the table. I have come to better appreciate the countless hours spent by the volunteer members of WSTDA. Sadly, there seems to never be enough hours or volunteers to handle the demands and responsibilities. Even more time is needed to follow through with the new ideas that our members bring to the table.

I see our committees’ unyielding dedication in keeping up with our standard review process. Once they take a deep breath after that exercise its time to look at the other publications within their committee. By the time that is done the standard is in need of review once again. This cycle affords us little time for our committees to look at other things and become more involved with the industry around them.

As our membership continues to grow I can only hope that more volunteers will step to the plate. Our work is very important and honestly, we need all the help we can get. As a member of WSTDA it is your right and your obligation to get involved. We have several new adventures on the horizon that are going to require additional time and volunteers. I sincerely hope each and every member company can make the decision that the time has come for their active participation to commence.

It has been an honor working with everyone again this past year. While we can not put a price on our time we all know how precious it is and I am truly grateful for your dedication. Thank you for sponsoring new members, attending meetings, purchasing products and the time that you have so graciously given to WSTDA and the industries we serve.

I look forward to seeing everyone in Ontario, Canada. We have a wonderful agenda lined up and we have selected a beautiful site for you to enjoy your free time. Safe travels to everyone!
