WSTDA 2008 Fall Meeting

Load Securement Technical Committee Report

By Karl Keisewitt, Tie Down Committee Chairman

Our committee name has changed from the Tie Down Technical Committee to the Load Securement Technical Committee. You can see that the Committee is taking up a new challenge in its work. Two ad hoc committees are working on two completely new standards.

The interior van securement standard will include product categories like logistic tracks, beams, pan fittings and beam sockets, friction-cargo bars and straps.

The second ad hoc committee is working on a load binder standard. This standard will include tie down chain assemblies and load binders.

These major projects will take a lot of time and effort. Many thanks to everyone of these extraordinary people who are spending their time to work with the ad hoc committees and/or the Load Securement Technical Committee.

See you in St. Louis, Missouri, in October.
