It's time to register! The Web Sling and Tie Down Association's 2005 Mid-Year Meeting is being held November 13-15, 2005 at the Loews Annapolis Hotel in Annapolis, Maryland. Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to meet with your industry peers and friends. WSTDA Elects New Board Becky Thiessen, DLD Truck Straps, Inc. was re-elected as president of WSTDA. Thiessen’s term as president comes on the heels of a successful Annual Meeting in Niagara-on-the-Lake, in Ontario, Canada. Interest in membership in WSTDA has surged since the Annual Meeting, with seven new member companies joining the association since May. DETAILS Fiber Market Industry Panel To Be Held at Midyear Meeting What is happening in the fiber market – both in North America and overseas? Why are you paying significantly more, in some cases, now than you were 12-18 months ago? This panel of industry suppliers and distributors will shed light on this situation, in a moderated panel discussion format. Questions and open discussion will be encouraged. This panel discussion will be moderated by Steve Schroeder, of American Webbing & Fittings. Invited Panelists include representatives from: Dupont-Sabanci, Invista, Filtec Precise, Murdock Webbing, Southern Weaving, Ribbon Webbing, Kinedyne, Performance Fibers and Coats North America. Hurricane Katrina WSTDA and its members recognize the tragic events related to Hurricane Katrina that have devastated the residents of New Orleans and the Gulf States. As an association, we extend our thoughts and prayers and look forward to a conference in the Gulf States in the future. Celebration of Life We are saddened by the untimely death of Marlene Norton, President of American Webbing and mother of Steve Schroeder, who was killed in a car accident on May 21, 2005. Steve Schroeder has asked us to express his deep appreciation for all of the prayers and support he has received from members of WSTDA. His family and employees thank you for your thoughts – they have been overwhelmed with the response from WSTDA. Marlene would have been touched to know how much everyone has extended their thoughts, prayers and comfort at such a difficult time. WSTDA Welcomes New Member Super Slings Inc. Serving for the coming year as Web Sling Technical Committee Chairman, is Greg Crain, Liftex Corporation; Tie Down Technical Committee Chairman is Karl Heinz-Keisewitt, Doleco GmbH; Round Sling Technical Committee Chairman, is Greg Babinchak, Lift-All Co., Inc.; Testing Committee Chairman, is Charles Lucas, The Crosby Group; Policy/Forms Review Committee Chairman, is Henry Reyna, Safe ‘N Secure USA; and Legal Resource Committee Chairman, is Michael Gelskey, Sr., Lift-It Manufacturing. |
