WSTDA Standards Review

WSTDA Mid-Year Conference

Testing Committee Report

By Charles Lucas, Chair

The testing committee received several new assignments at our meeting in San Diego.

These are:

  1. Fred Stringfellow is to contact AWRF for permission to share their edge cut data.

  2. redo graphs for the 1980 UV study.

  3. develop user friendly UV graphs for the 2003 study.

  4. check with AWRF to see if our members can obtain their Sling Analyzer.

The new graphs for the 1980 UV study have been completed and circulated to the testing committee.  The committee approved the graphs and they were sent to Fred Stringfellow, to prepare sample Booklets for the committee and the Board of Directors to review.  It was suggested that the old graphs remain in the study, and just add the new ones to the information.

The user friendly UV graphs for the 2003 study have also been completed, and we hope to have sample booklets at the next meeting.  The new booklet will consist of 18 graphs and will compare the loss of strength to the rated capacity. We hope it can be sold for a lower-cost and would generate some interest in the complete study.
