Meet Your Peers

WSTDA Members:

It's time to register! WSTDA’s Fall Meeting is being held October 19-21, 2010 at the Hilton Ft. Worth in Ft. Worth, Texas. Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to meet with your industry peers and friends.

Special Session - Mock Trial
Accident at Stormfield Place: Going to Trial
Todd Peterson, Partner
Bassi, Edlin, Huie & Blum, LLP

There’s been an accident. Someone was killed using the product you gave them. The authorities investigate. OSHA arrives shortly thereafter. Months later the distraught family files a lawsuit.

The WSTDA presents “Accident at Stormfield Place: Going to Trial” at the upcoming Fall meeting in Dallas/Fort Worth. The seminar presents a complete mock trial stemming from a fictional accident. Attorneys Todd Peterson and Noel Edlin will describe the facts of the accident, and then put the product on trial. Peterson and Edlin play opposing counsel. They will begin with opening statements. They will examine and cross examine witnesses (played by WSTDA members), and conclude with closing arguments. Thereafter, the audience will play the jury. A fictional “foreman” will lead their deliberations. Attendees will deliberate and render a verdict. You decide the outcome.

Peterson and Edlin are partners in Bassi, Edlin, Huie & Blum in San Francisco and Los Angeles. They are experienced trial attorneys who specialize in the defense of companies in the manufacturing and rental industries.

Hints & Tips
Just like its balance of "Cowboys and Culture," Fort Worth weather offers an ideal balance of warm and cool climate: 230+ days of sunshine a year, just enough rain to keep things green.

About Ft. Worth
As the 17th largest city in the United States and the No. 1 tourist destination in Texas, Fort Worth welcomes nearly 5.5 million visitors each year. No other city boasts such an unmistakable mix of preserved Western heritage and unrivaled artistic offerings. After all, Fort Worth is where you can see Michelangelo's first painting and see the world's only twice-daily cattle drive, all within minutes of Sundance Square, our downtown entertainment district.

If you have any questions or need more information, please call WSTDA Headquarters at 443-640-1070 ext. 117 or Laura Izzo at extension 110. We look forward to seeing you in October!

Sincerely,
Cynthia M. Jordan
Director of Meetings and Member Services.
